Estonia

Apr 20, 2004: European Game & Entertainment Technology Ltd Ab (EGET), a Finnish supplier of Internet gaming solutions, has successfully delivered an Internet sports betting solution to the subsidiary of the Estonian Olympic Committee called Spordiennustus. The delivery has been done in a close cooperation with Ålands Penningautomatförening (PAF).
The new system is the first Internet betting solution in Estonia. The game site is initially launched with the classical 1x2 betting on sports events as football, ice hockey and basketball. Later on, up to 14 additional new betting types - such as betting on correct score or on half time results - shall be added to the system.
People aged 21 and over who have a personal code and a bank account in Estonia can register at the Web site spordiennustus.ee and place bets on any of 30 to 100 sport events per day.
Apart from Spordiennustus, there is no other gambling system in Estonia that allows people to place bets on professional sports. Apparently plans to expand into Latvia and Lithuania had been discussed. The most important step for a Pan-Baltic operation would be adding Latvian and Lithuanian language support to the gambling software.
There are regular, paper-ticket based sport results gambling networks in Latvia and Lithuania, but they are not available online.

Dec 17, 2003: European Game & Entertainment Technology Ltd Ab (EGET), a Finnish supplier of Internet gaming solutions, has signed an agreement to deliver an Internet gaming system to the Estonian licensed gaming operator Spordiennustus A/S (a joint venture of the Estonian Olympic Committee and Pafer AS). The company has been established to promote sports in Estonia and to offer high quality betting services in the country.
The Internet gaming system, which shall be released during spring 2004, shall offer betting, mainly on sports events, to Estonian players. The delivery shall be done in co-operation with Ålands Penningautomatförening (PAF)
Initially Spordiennustus will offer sport events, both local and international; in the future the system can be used to offer betting on virtually any event.
Spordiennustus A/S has a license to operate fixed odds sports betting in Estonia. The company is a joint venture of the Estonian Olympic Committee and PAFER A/S. Spordiennustus, sports betting in Estonian, has entered into a long-term co-operation with Ålands Penningautomatförening (PAF) and EGET regarding development and operation of sports betting games for the Estonian market.
